Colour: Citrine is most recognisable by its variations of sunshine yellow and sacral orange tones; this crystal can also range from transparent to deep yellow
Location: Citrine is most commonly found in the Ural Mountains of Russia and in Madagascar.
History: Previously known as yellow quartz the stone was named Citrine in 1556, the real source of the name is unknown however some reports say it originates from the French word “citron” meaning lemon. Other historical mentions are the ancient Greeks who used the stone ornamentally for thousands of years and the 17th century Scott’s men who would affix citrine to their daggers and swords to before battle.
